Luvias handles??

Which handle do you guys prefer on your Luvias?? Do you guys prefer the machined handles or the standard ones? Reason I ask is a certain website is offering the 1500 and 2004 Luvias reels with 50mm machined handle and cork knob at a pretty good price. I have attached a pic for those who haven't seen them.

I like the cork knob, but I'm not a fan of machined handles on bream reels.

If you're looking for Luvias, go for the 1500 rather than the 2004.

Hi Swoffa, any major reason for the 1500 Luvias over the 2004 and even the 2500? Im thinking a little bigger for tackling a few larger fish as well as bream

I haven't tried a 2500, but imagine that it'd be nice and solid like the 1500. The 2004 is very flimsy and tinny, where Daiwa cut down the weight they also reduced the quality IMO. Also, the drag is silent on the 2004.

I haven’t got a reel with the cork grips but I've had a little play with them. The cork feels allot harder than your rod grips and has what looks like a gloss coat over it to protect it.

Its quite nice to use to

cheers, Nathan

Interesting to hear and I've heard you say this a few times. I thought the only thing they cut down to reduce the weight was the spool???

I own both the 1500 and 2004 and I quite like the light weight of the 2004, although the drag is almost silent on the 2004. The 2004 has handled everything I've thrown at it including some healthy size bass as well. Both reels are great.
