Why is prerigging bad
I recently read an article that said you shouldnt leave plastics on the jig heads between trips. I cant remember the reason though.
I always have lures pre rigged. What are the probs. I havent found any yet |

I cant remember the name of the mag but it was a list of "Do's" and "Donts" for plastics.

I have found the jigheads go funny and get a layer of sticking gunk on the lead if you leave them in packs with SPs tooo long but thats about all i can find that is wrong....

When i pre rig i just leave the jighead on. That way i dont wreck a tail if i dont want to use the one i put on. And no one can copy my fine selection of placcy
NOT

I doubt if this is a regular thing, but I've had a couple of chartreuse 2" Power minnows split around the cone of a lunker city jig head, it was a small one, so it was perfectly matched. I dunno, maybe I just had a bodgy couple of power minnows? I haven't had it happen since.

yeh I keep about 20 lures pre rigged so I dont have to muck around rigging them by the water. I find it easier to retie a jig head, than it is to thread a plastic (properly
)

pre-rigging with bminnows i find leaves a yucky black coat on jigheads as already mentioned. other types of plastics dont seem to do the same. thats the only disadvantage of pre-rigging IMO.

it may be because many sp's are salted and this will cause the hooks to rust at a faster rate

I dont know so much about other SPs but if you leave a hook in the new berkley crabs it will totally destroy the hook to the point of desintegration in a very short time. Was playing around in the shop figuring out the best way to rig them, and by the time we got on the water albiet the next morning the hooks just fell apart.

More importantly about the Berkley crabs, do they work on the bream?

Most things in that range will work on bream all depends on their feeding habits, enviroment and mood. but yes bream do eat crabs so why not
