Old timers gone????

Hi all,

I have been using bream master for a fair while now. From when i first started using it till now i have noticed a decrease (so it seems to me) in the more experienced anglers posting.

Why is that???

Is it due to the increase number of new anglers that don't have much experience??

Not sure what it is but it sure is a shame for all those newbie's looking for advice

I find my self posting less and less here too.............have lost quite a few posts and get tired of reposting

Hopefully the old timers will come back and make this site bigger and better than ever.

To many young wipper snappers!!!

There has been a pretty big influx of younger people coming to the site lately.

The same questions keep getting asked so they get tyred of responding.

I know when i joined up also there was allot more posting from the more "experienced groups".

Theres a hell of allot of younger guys out there now that will out fish the "oldies" to

cheers, Nathan

Yeh i know what you mean!
Maybe its because instead of us asking the questions were the ones giving pointers and were the oldies now.....lol
God help any one that takes pointers from me.

How the hell did i become one of the top posters? I hope i dont annoy people on here. Maybe us Crap on Posters whiped out the useful posters?

Hi all,

I'm hoping one of the oldies will reply

I think some "better" anglers get piss off when the younger less experience anglers offer advice.

All advice is good.....just depends on how you use it.

Its got nothing to do with that Eddy. The more "experienced" anglers had to go through what my self and every other newbie has also.

Theres plenty of reasons why the oldies have left, some cant be explained over the site and others may be because they lost intrest. It just sorts out the more keen angler

cheers, Nathan

Hi nath,

Maybe it has grown too big!!!

Maybe those anglers liked it when they knew other members as real people not cyber anglers??

Your guess is almost as good as mine

maybe an answer!

Hi Guys

maybe I'm one of the oldies you're referring to?
thats ok cos' my posts have slowed down due to work committments. I started a new job 3 weeks ago and prior to that was travelling for work and Breaming. Mim and JP have been flatout for the past few months. I still have things to say about Breaming, but if it's been asked before than I won't reply because a simple search will bring up most of the answers.
I haven't done any sort of fishing for the last 3 weeks, right now I should be doing my purchase report and bank rec'.

Anyway take it easy and if time permits you'll see me make a post or two.

I agree too, the old timers, experienced anglers, comp pros, don't post anymore like they used to. About 6-8 of them still log in on the web everyday, they just don't post. Others may look on as a 'visitor' and not log in.

About 3 of them are directly related to the BM and do post and provide advise occasionally, guess it is kind of related to their jobs. JP & Mim are the only ones left that will look and provide helpful advise, that I can recall, thinking back now. Other will post only when it's closer to their comps. The odd one will occasionally post/advise if they know of you. Guess some may not be able to advise as they are sponsored by companies and can't comment on other products or advise. Others may be hesitant as sometimes misinterpretation can occur as has happened in the past. Guess we still can't post through the mobile phone these days and we still have to be in a building to post. Guess lots of them work off site.

I agree lots of the questions have been asked before and it's just a matter of doing a 'search' which I do, however, it is not easy as the keyword has to be spot on. When I ask for advise, they are always from the helpful younger/newer experienced anglers over the east, which I gratefully appreciate however disappointed that the old timers don't respond.

My job in an office is pretty boring and quiet and my boss doesn't mind us using the web. So I am grateful for the BM web keeping me occupied. It has become my habit and hobby to post rubbish, make silly comments, jokes, etc due to boredom, so I guess, that's probably why I get ignored by the locals on this end!

Cheers, hope this doesn't offend anyone, but like the guys said, hope to see more old timers return to have a say!

I am not the greatest bream fisho out there but i think i can offer a lot of advice in techique from a broader spectrum of angling

i dont get to go out much anymore so I get my fix on the cyberways

I think a lot of the more experienced bream fishos are to busy fishing to post any more

nah really i think its mainly because the newbies dont bother checking if a topic has been discussed before and the oldies dont bother responding twenty times to the same topic.

the fact is , there are ALWAYS new techniques and ideas coming out so even if the topics are duplicated the responses are normally quite diffeent between them.
KEEP POSTING! - we'll keep soaking up the info!

My answer to this is alot of the early information has now been spread around or has already been posted.
Alot of the same questions are asked and if people used the search command they could get the answers they require.

I spose we shouldnt call them old lol
Maybe this site has moved in a new direction that doesnt appeal to the older members?
I noticed the atmosphere has sertainly changed nower days when checking through the forums. I dont mean it as in its totally bad because the people here are still friendly.
