reels from overseas?
This might be a little early but my family is going to Singapore over the christmas holidays. Having just bought a 7 foot sic stik a few weeks ago, I've been thinking about a new reel to replace my samurai.
I'll ask my dad's friend where he got his biomaster but any suggestions or advice are welcome.

You won't have any warranty issues with o/s bought Daiwas, I've had my reels repaired/serviced by Daiwa Australia and never had any problems.
Shop around in Singapore, a bloke I know just picked up Certate 2000's for $380 over there.

What can I get for around $200? I still havent told my parents about this plan so I might be able to play around with the price a bit (up or down)

warantee
Diawa: 5 years
Shimano: 10 years Just keep the proof of purchase.......that should be sufficient for a warantee claim |

been lucky enough not to have to send my reels in for warantee, but i've been told that i need Proof of Purchase (showing date).
but with all new reels, ie made just a few years ago, one wouldn't require a PoP.... |

I don't see why where you purchased a product would matter. If its made by that manufacturer - shimano, daiwa etc they should honour any warranty as its THEIR product.
