Daiwa Caldia series are 1.5-2.0oz lighter than Capricorn reels. It is equipped with 4+1 ball bearings and Air light spool of TD-Z and X. Its Hard Body is made of metal and quite tough. Spool ring is coated with titanium nitride and protects line effectively. 2005, 2506 models have shallow spools for light lines.

Model Weight Line Cap*
1500 8.0 8lb-110
2000 8.0 8lb-165y
2005 8.0 5lb-110y
2005W 8.4 5lb-110y
2500 9.2 12lb-165y
2506 8.9 6lb-110y
2506W 9.2 6lb-110y

Cool

Hey guys my local tackle shop has the new 2006 model Caldia Clix reels - the 2500 model which has a claimed max drag of 7kgs sells for $319.00 here in Bris Vegas. All the models are around that sort of price. They seem like a really good reel for the price, unless you want to go the whole hog and buy a certate custom or certate finesse.

I just brought another stradic. Got rid of my Caldia kix 2000, i never liked it to be honest it just felt cheap to me, call me crazy ive turned to Shimano now, and ill never go back to Daiwa. Each to their own though, the new model kix looks good but ill stick with Shimano.
