Capricorn 1500 versus 2000

What are the advantages of the 1500 compared to the 2000.
These are the specs for the 1500 and the 2000

Daiwa CA1500
6/100 5BB 4.7:1 9.5oz.

Daiwa CA2000
8/110 5BB 4.7:1 9.5oz.

I chose the 2000 because it weighed the same but held more line.

It seemed odd that they would weigh the same. Are they the same reel with different spools.

ha thought you could hide the post from me

I think they are the same. I fish 4lb fireline so there is no trouble getting heaps of line on the spool anyway.

I already have one and want another for an outfit for hard bodies when I start the comps next year.

I think the theory's are the new capricorns available. Might give one of them a go as they look sexy and when I have the money for it next year, the cappies may not be around.

Theres no difference except for size of the spool.

a 1500 is plenty if your fishing for Bream.

I have two Corns at the moment (sold one actually) and will continue to buy them, there a top reel you will love your YD.

Im trying to make up my mind weather to buy a TD-A though.

cheers, Nathan

Arrrrrrgggghh

HL-Z, TD-A

Im going nucking futs- scuse my grammar.

Ok calm now. I use the cappy on a HL- IM6 6'6 2 piece. I love it for hb's and sb's so I want two of them. One with a cappy for hb's and the other with a theory for softies. That way i dont waste too much leader tying softies then hb's then softies again. One type for each rod- seems professional enough for the comps for me.

I think they're the same spool, but its just that one is made "shallower" than the other....

Have you considered the Diawa Caldia, its a little lighter than the corn and has the Air light spool of TD-Z and X.

The Diawa Caldia looks like this......as you can see it has a different spool when compared to the corn.....Its the spool from (or similar) the TD-Z
