Melb Fishing Expo

i know im going to move slightly away from reels with this, please forgive me

Went along to the Melb fishing and 4w4 show as i suspect many vics did, spoke with a guy about Shimano's Ian Miller rack raiders, he tells me they are a copy of his Triple B rods, so i bought one at at $90 i thought it was worth the try.

I gotta say, its a fantastic rod and I actually prefer it over my Loomis (and at 4 times the price thats hard to say), thats not the good part,

with his rods so cheap I asked after his reels in particular a Sustain 1000, he said $340 cash, I asked to have a look to see if was second hand and had all the forms etc, all good SOLD!

not a bad liitle set up for $430, but the best part was a 29 cm beauty on the third cast.

anyone else got one of these rods and feels the same way?

Saw thoserods for 90 dollars I paid more than twice that last year.
the fishing show, saw some good camping gear, subscribed to the new Vic Fishing Monthly. Some good displays of Soundes.
But thats about it, so much was just an extension of some retailers. Iused to go to Computer shows where you talk to Microsoft reps etc. I would expect at a fishing show to be able to talk to reps from companies like Daiwa, or listen to Steve Starling on Squidjies etc etc go off to you tackle shop and say sell me those.... I saw them at the Fishing show....

Total waste of money. The retailers are unloading their old stock, very few, never again!
