Boat advice

I'm looking for some advice on which way to go when I eventually get my boat.

I'm want to know if there is any cost savings if I was to buy a bare hull and get it fitted out myself as oppose to buying a ready to go rig? Keep in mind I probably would get it all done proffessionally as I don't have any experience when it comes to fitting out boats.

Even if it was to work out the same sort of cash, I would probably lean towards getting the bare hull and fitting it out as this would allow me to customise to my needs.

Any advice or experiences are much appreciated, thx

All I can say is that if you are going to get your own hull fitted out, get to have a look at as many current boats as you can to get a good idea as to what you would like and then talk to some people that do the work and they should be able to give you an idea on the price.

Price wise it is prob. cheaper to buy one that is already down out.
hope that helps

I bought a tournament edgtracker and had the rod locker and live hold tank added later. The bloke who modified it said if I got him to do the whole lot from bare hull it would have cost about the same but it would have been better made, and more customised.

Thx for the advice guys. I guess I'll contact a few boat builders around se qld and see what sort of coin the are asking.

I wouldn't mind so much if it was even going to cost slightly more, just as long as I know it has been done to perfection using quality products and no corners were cut. I guess with alot of the big name factory delivered boats there are areas they would have cut corners to save on costs.

thx again guys
