combo help....

Gday Guys and Gals

I am in need of some advice. I've been eyeing on a Shimano Scorpion 1000 Baitcaster to mate with a struddy sic stik 6'6.

Just wondering if any has or ever used this combo or in particular the reel (seeing as i can't get hold of one in Perth)......

Any comments comments on the reel or the combo would be muchly appreciated.

are you flicking plastics around with it? cause the baitcaster will find it hard to cast light plastics.

Love your nickname.... If you're planning to use a baitcaster for breaming then my advise is scrap that idea... Best outfit for breaming is a threadline (spinning/ eggbeater) reel with a soft tip rod (for plastics) or high modulus stiifer type for hardbodies..

If you're interested in that combo for other uses... dunno... can't help you there. Abandoned my Calcutta a long time ago in favour of a spinning reel.

Shimano Scorpion

Hey,

I say get the Shimano Scorpion, I am also looking at buying one. I think it is capable of casting light lures around with ease. It is an awesome reel, i recently checked one out at Compleat Angler, and i have to say that it is awesome. U can get one from Japantackle or off ebay if you are lucky to find one.

Cheers

DUDE.

Im pretty sure that he would have already made a decision about the reel considering he asked the question in 2004
