hey,

i have felt these rods and for the price ( under $100) they are good little rods, specially for softies also got a nice short butt. seems like good value for the price.

cheers, brody

hi evileye
i got 2 silstar hi-graph rods (6'6 HGSPL and 7'0 HGSPXL) and can honestly say they're really good value for money. though not as sensitive as the sicstick range (still very capable of doing both hardbody & softplastic though) & they're hella strong and can handle the biggest bream with ease. for their price (most likely around $70-80) u can do no wrong.

Hi,
I have a silstar, cost me under $100 and i love it. It is good for both soft plastics and hard bodies. Can't go wrong if your just starting out.

for the replies, the one i looked at was about 100 bucks, 7' too, and it is my second combo upgrade so im not going to get something expensive like a strudwick or loomis, just yet, im pulling in just under $100 a week with my job and im only 14 so no bills for me! , so yeh thanks im thinking of getting it shortly.

evileye, is the silstar rod u looked at the silstar evo-graph? it's the next step up from the hi-graph i think and it's about $115 or sumtin. if u can afford that, then go for it, but if ur a bit short in cash, the hi-graph (at $70-80) will suffice heaps ^^

Raiders and sik sticks are around the $150 mark, but you can get them lower than this. I haven't played with a Silstar High Graph but I would guess there would be a substantial better given they are specifically designed for bream.

if u can afford $150 for the sicstick then definitely go for the sicstick. and yep u can order them from breammaster, I'm sure craig will help u out.
i just have one issue though, donno if this is a frequent problem with sicstick but my friend's sicstick broke at the tip while fighting a big bream. anyone can clarify on this?

If you've come across the Silstar EVO Graph 601SPXL do yourself a favour and buy it ! I've been using one for a year now and it's excellent for tossing all sorts of bream lures and I've used it on the open water for salmon and good sized tailor as well as a few other applications - it's a great little rod, go get one mate

be carefull with the silstar brand as i have had some problems with the two rods i have but not with the particular models you are looking at. the rods i have r in the lower price range one a cyrstal tip and the other a power tip and both the rods in question have suffered from cracking and bubbling of the top coats of clear. this has not affected their performance but looks DohDohDohDoh house.on questioning the retailer i was told that unless the rods were broken the defects were not covered by warrenty.questioning the local sales rep was not overly helpfull either and in the case of the power tip the delamination is over a 9 inch length of the butt of the rod. both these rods have caught some nice fish and have definately not been over loaded. in my opion i would spend the extra on a dawia or other quality brand whose after sales service has been proven.

I've used a 10ft Power Tip for close to 10 years and all I've had to do with it is replace the guides. Caught everything from Bream and Salmon to Bronze Whalers.
