Survivors
I was rattling through my gear the other night and came across this Attack that I've 'retired'. It was purchased in 1994 or '95 by mail order from the now defunct Harbord Tackle. It's got over 100 Derwent Rv bream to it's credit and seemed to be able to pull fish even when identical lures couldn't. Despite being fairly battered and being on it's 4th or 5th set of trebles it's still fit for battle. This is one thing about HBs, you can grow very attached to some of them. Anyone else have any 'survivor' stories.
Cheers, Rigzz |

I have seen someones wall with retired lures on it. All 52 Scorps and Laser pro 45`s retired after catching "another lazy 100", funny thing was the amount of difference in the paint taken off the lures from by snaggy bream and flats bream... quite a difference.
Ive havnt been able to get a lure past 50 fish without having it taken from me. Had a gold laser pro that had 43 fish, til a Murray Bream decided to take a liking to it.

the only paint my hard bodies lose is when they hit the snags instead of the water in front and last forever in my tackle box as i am too scared of losing them. just as well i am a good swimmer as the body count would be higher... did someone mention casting practise??????

Hi, I can relate to your quandary over casting practice grandpa racing, I think I need some myself! Strewth Richo, that bottom scorp looks like it's been hit with a sandblaster
You must have some mighty tough fish over there. I used to keep my retirees separate to my working lures but now keep them all together. I imagine that when they all get together on their lure shindigs the veterans entertain the newbie lures with tales of battle and bravery (and owner stupidity in my case)Cheers, Rigzz |

Thats the difference between faggy river bream and feisty flats bream, both those lures had caught 100 fish each, the bottom one was the one used soley on the flats, whereas the top one was fished in snags only........ Im yet to crack 50 fish on a single lure at the moment so the only retiree I have is still my PB which came straight from the fishes gob to my KeyRing........
And im getting mighty sick of it...... nearly pb huntin time...... cheers
