1-3kg rod to match Luvias 2506
Hi All,
After a 1-3 kg bream stick around 6'6 to 7' to match a Luvias 2506 for bream. I basically want an "All Rounder", mostly be using plastics, but will also use for surface and hb's. The Nitro Vapor 70 has caught my eye, though its right at the upper of what i was looking to pay (around $350) and is a bit old now? Any one own/used one of these, or have reccomendations for other rods to look at in the <350 price range?

13 fishing Omen Black 7ft has been a good all rounder for me. I use it mostly with plastics and Cranka crabs, works well with surface walkers too.

I have used my nitro vapour with a certate 2506 but it's too heavy to balance it and get a good feel. Also the nitro has micro guides. I really like the rod but I am not sure how well it will balance on the luvias, given it is light than the certate but you would really like to take your reel into a tackle store and get a good balance and feel.

The 2506 luvias weighs about 200g so approx 40grams lighter than the tate, i'll see if i can track one down locally to get a feel.

I run a Shimano Biomaster 2500FB on my nitro which has a listed weight of 265g which according to figures online is 25g heavier than the Certate, in which both are figures without line. The biomaster does balance better maybe it's not a weight thing but a physical size thing as the Daiwa reels are larger physically in size.
After using the nitro with the certate for 8 hours casting 3 days in a row I never got fatigued or annoyed by it. Didn't really ever worry me. In saying that I had bought the Certate for a Samurai Reaction and moved it across to the nitro whilst my Samurai was getting replaced due to breaking. I would still use the 2506 on the nitro without hesitation but if I am going to buy another reel for it specifically I would get a Luvias or Certate in the 2000 size. I think the weight of the luvias 2506 would be fine just depends if you want the bulk feel of a bigger reel. I like my nitro rods, they have a nice feel to them, and perform well above their stated weight. I landed a 1.2m port jackson shark on it when I was chasing jewies with plastics and it never broke a sweat. A great thing about the nitro range is the warranty which in my experience is brilliant. I broke my first rod inside a week which was user fault, I was trolling with it for Trout in a rod holder and it snapped at the base. They sent me a replacement that turned up no more than 2 days later. I broke another one a couple of months ago when a metal blade hooked the tip and broke the tip about 25mm down. Took into the tackle store and they just gave me a new section on the spot (had to pay the replacement fee for it which I think was $79 or $99 can't actually remember). In comparison my samurai took about 4 weeks to get to me and cost me $250 to replace. Also samurai replacement is 3 years (from what I was told) and nitro was for life. My bream one (I have a couple of heavier nitros for cod and mulloway) is the Vapour in 7ft. Been keen to get a 6"6' one to try as well. Last edited by beans07; 27-12-2016 at 08:01 PM.
