Float tubes

Who's used one of these units before.

I was watching some float tube fishing videos the other night and before I knew it - I got a bit carried away with my "Buy Now" finger

Looks like theres plenty of room for innovating - and it might be fun to fish out of aswell

These devices have so many negatives, as a fishing vessel, that I am already regretting the purchase

Protecting the Nuts, is just one of them

They do come with a "Nut Protecting Mesh Table" -

When its connected correctly - the mesh suspends above your lap - But its not going to be much use on the monsters I catch

Yeah - you can add that to list of my reasons for the "regretful purchase"

Using them in the waters the "Goliath Hunter" is using them - is pure madness.
Its like switch baiting a live fish - for your legs.

I'll be doing every thing I can to avoid "that" scenario - and the scenario in the vid below

At best - I'll get sucked by a carp - and at worst - the mozzies will get me while I'm deflating the tube

But even in a metropolis the size of Melbourne - there are 70m stretches of water you see on google maps that may fish as well as they did before white man stuffed things up

And its those pockets that I plan to hit.

Yeah I'm hoping it opens up some new territories.

And as a bonus - I've already had to make my first innovative decision - the freaking pump would fit the nozzle - so I remembered guys back in high school making good use of garden hose for life hacks.

A quick squirt with a lighter - and now the hose makes an airtight seal and the pump nozzle jams right in there - too easy

They are good fun...for a while.

I had a Caddis float tube for trout fishing in a lake, some might call it a Melbourne Water Reservoir, but it looked like a lake to me Your Honour.

The annoying part is having to go backwards to move anywhere quickly, then spin around with a table-tennis bat to get into position. It's pretty frustrating and spooks fish in clear water. It doesn't sound like much of a pain, but after a while it gets very annoying, especially if there's current or wind.

Make sure you've got a pair of really good wetsuit pants, because unless the water is bath temp, you'll get cold very quickly.

Sorry about the negatives Larry.

Yeah those negatives keep piling up - and I havent even used the thing yet

I was going to wait for the warmer months to christen it - but now I just want to have a go to see how bad they suck

interested in this one yellow door. I've just taken delivery of a couple to fish a few spots. Haven't had the time to get out yet. Expecting a few issues but I'm keen to find out how effective it is

Yeah I'm kind of enjoying the negative feedback - that way my expectations will be so low that I'll just be happy if it floats
