Plastics rod.. Please help

Hi guys,

I need some help in buying a new plastics rod. I use to buy high end gear but since selling my gear last year I have to start again (with a budget) I'm getting back into yak fishing and want to know which rod will Match up with a 2500 Sustain. I'm looking to spend around the $200 mark

Cheers Justo

Gen Black range or if you look around you can still find Daiwa Black Labels for a bit over $200. Both fantastic rods for the price.

Trions are $70 at the moment - depending on store availability, you may have to buy online which will add another $15 for postage

I am a big fan of the Pflueger Trion SP701ULT (1-3kg) for the application you are talking about.

At $70 that is a bargain

Trion gets my pick also.

Always look at the whole package inc blank and furniture quality on the rod over just the brand...

Nothing worse than low quality guides and a cheap chinese seat on a supposedly "high quality" rod...

The new JML rod series might suit mate. The 'sensation' series Retail for about $180. 2 piece, 7" 2-8lb, KR concept guides and blanks are great (Toray blanks fom memory). I'll have mine probably early next week. If you want anymore info let me know.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I have had a look at the trions but not too keen on them, as stated the action just is not right for what I want. Thanks Cheif I'll look into the JML rods. Juicebox thanks mate I can't work out what store you are talking about haha but I did look at one of them today and look pretty good to me.

Cheers Justo
