Daiwa Ballistic X Spin

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for feedback on this range of rods. I was thinking that the BLX702LS looks good on paper. How would they compare to the Gen Blacks?

I'm in the market for a 7 foot, 2-4kg, light/medium spin rod mainly for land based soft plastic fishing targeting the usual suspects. I was originally tossing up between an Itchy Twitchy, Wicked Weasel or Scratchy (I haven't compared them in-store yet). The Ballistic X seems like it is in-between these models and fits my requirements, I just couldn't find any threads about them anywhere.

My budget is around the $200 mark.

Thanks for the responses so far. I'll check out the Crucis rods. I was considering the black label 610LXS. I'm mainly a beach fisho, so I don't know how often I'll use it, hence the more conservative price bracket.

The Ballistic X seem very similar to the Gen Blacks minus the KR Guides, but it does share the HVF Blank and X45 bias wrap with the Black Labels.

HVF are some of the best value blanks on the market.

Im sure a ballistic x wont let you down. I wouldnt worry about no k-guides, being land based the guides might cop a few knocks anyway and k guides are more expensive to replace.
