I've got a 4000 Fireblood on mine, I would say that if you could get a 3000 Stella it would be spot on. The 4000 is a fraction too big in my opinion as the rod is so light.

A lot of variables you have to take in to consideration. I often use this rod for working 10g jigs with a 4 to 6 inch plastic in water up to 25m deep. For "monster mulloway" I would stick with a 4000 size Shimano or a 3000 size Daiwa. A Stella works very well but might be out of your price range for a new one. Anything from a Rarenium up will work, just get the best you can afford.
