Daiwa certate older model 2500 line roller bearing

Alright - I finally have all the information I need to ask this question

Previously I was missing key details such as - the model of the reel in question.

Does anyone have a brand new line roller bearing for the 2500 version of the certate pictured below.

And just in case anyone decides to say I should have just bought Gav's bearing - It was a great deal but I was unsure if it would fit

p.s. - I'm trying to avoid dealing directly with Daiwa

BFL, it looks like a 2000, rather than a 2500.

However, LRB are the same for that old blue model from 1500 right through to 4000.

The part number is G28-1601

The 1500 and 2000 share the same body & parts, with just a different spool for the CT2000.

ED: I have a feeling that the shields on the original LRB are removable (maybe) so you might be able to service the one you have. Plenty of pics on Slazmos page if you get the urge.

Thanks heaps for the detailed info - Reel parts and maintenance have never been my strong suit - Much appreciated.

The reel pictured is a 2000 but the bearing that needs replacing is in a 2500 (I didnt have a photo of it)

Re resurrecting the bearing - this one sounds like its possessed by a banshee - I think its too far gone.....

I'll get in contact with Slazmo

Just take the bearing out and measure it, find the correct item on a bearing website, I use vxb bearing, then just order the stainless steel versions, pack them with grease and go from there. Maintence is the key with these Daiwa bearing, service them once a year and repack them and they last a long time.
I bought a 10 pack which ends up far cheaper than finding a single miniature bearing online or in stores, as thy are very expensive. If you're in desperate need I've got plenty spares. PM me an address and I can send a SS bearing out.

Otherwise search by size and order from here:

Line roller bearing (3x6x2.5mm)

http://www.hedgehog-studio.co.jp/product/492

Not necessarily recommending Hedgehog, just like the language in the description

I love "alchemy oil"

NB. I drill a hole slightly smaller than the line roller into a piece of softwood (pine) and press the roller into it to hold firmly so I can remove the tiny circlip with a couple of long shank jigheads.

Now thats innovating - I'll do something similar when mine rusts out I swear Daiwa just put that clip in there to make things difficult

Those bearing dimensions rang a bell, so I went to the archives to check - and its the same one they use in the old advantage 2000. And I do have one of those lying around with a mint condition tricked out line roller bearing in it.

So if mine rusts out I''ll have a bit of Juggling to do. Or I could just get the anti reverse bearing fixed on the advantage and use it again

When that clip is out, get the leading edge and bend it up so that itll stick out a little more.

Makes revisiting it in the future a whole lot easier!!!

Look into the hedgehog studio upgrade for the particular reel you have as a 2010 Certate can be upgraded to a twin bearing line roller if you like.

Also Daiwa sells them under the planets brand or something similar.

Well I figured today was a good a day as any to learn how to remove the circlip and ...................

That little bastard has to be a sick joke from Daiwa.

Of course I ignored your advice and tried to go for the quick solution conveniently glossed over in the Daiwa maintenance video (they say if you have trouble, doing by far the hardest part of the operation, that we have neglected to show you in our video) please call the Daiwa service department

Trouble was an understatement

Then when I was getting ready to smash the reel with a hammer - your words came flooding back like an "Obi-Wan Kenobi" flash back - "Use the drill"

And I did - job done - thanks for the tip
