Modifying a 3.8m Tinny
Hi Guys,
I'm looking at entering a few of the bream comps on the gold coast which I can't wait to get into but the rules of the competition is a having live well 60ltr a must also I'm looking at putting a casting deck on the front and rear of the boat. If anyone has done this below it would be awesome to get your advise and to see a few pic's. Cheers, James |

Ally welder to do the bracing then 9 or 12mm marine ply and carpet glued to it. Fix decks down with stainless screws with a good smear of duralac on them. In a tinny, keep the livewell to the middle of the boat, avoid it too far back or forward as its easy to upset how it sits on the plane. Stay with 60L dont be tempted to go bigger. And you might end up needing a bigger outboard or a prop change to get it all up on the plane and running well.
Heres a tinny I did (a decade ago- and feeling slightly old) http://www.breammaster.com/forum/sho...ghlight=fitout |

no livewell, as I wasn't the Tournie type, but overcame that with a suitable esky or you could use some other ideas from around the place. Plenty of info in these pages.

Keep it as is mate- nice and open. Get a 60L poly icebox and get it plumbed in for a livewell in the center of the boat. For the deck I would just go from the seat forward to where ever the bow plate starts. Even a meter or so is big enough to stand up on. You might need to lose the bimini temporarily for comps (bit hard to see the detail of the front with it folded there and the seats on there too)
