Black labels aren't sub 300 mate. There generally around the 350 mark unless your talking the version 1s

Oh nice. Hadn't seen those specials up around brisbane. I'd look at one of the 2-4kg black labels. I've got the 7 foot version atm. Super ballsy but can be used for lighter plastics and hardbodies as well. Very nice rods

Have a look at the 13 Fishing - Muse Gold. I've been using the 7'2" for a while now and really rate it for $299RRP

Best rods for what? Cranking structure? Deep plastics or vibes? Flouro hards on the flats?

I just bought a Major Craft Volkey 6'6'' 5-10lb from shimreels and arrived today. Cost $230 with postage arriving in 4 working days, I am more than impressed!

The action is fast with a nice crisp feel throughout. Balances nicely with a 2500fj. This rod will be used for impoundment bass; surface lures and soft plastics.

I've also looked at the avenger 6'6'' 10lb and it feels equally as nice and the build quality is up there too, i'd say the tip on the volkey would get away with 2-3 grams heavier (basically feels like a true ML rod)

Volkeys go hard mate. My 4-8 with 2000 certate landed a 70cm snapper this morning. And a 1m wide foul hooked eagle ray last time out, but that one took a while

If you have to cast 8 pylons back, while standing inside a 6ft x 6ft box - an 8 footer is going to cause some problems.

You could spend a $1000 dollars and buy something entirely useless, if the terrain you're fishing in, isnt taken into consideration

Manno... When are you trimming up the butts on your gekkas?
DIY put some of those surface protectors on the ends.
Far more manageable in the yak mate!

That's crazy mate. Have you compared your 4-8 to the bigger model 5-10?

I was considering the 4-8, but I rarely cast lures under 1/4 oz, so I took the chance on the 5-10lb. Hope it serves well on the dam bass.
