Jigging Line for Stradic 4000
I'm helping to put together a light jigging outfit, a Storm Gomoku rod mated with a Stradic FJ 4000, for my soon to be 10 year old nephew, who is an absolute fishing fanatic. I mean, crazy keen! He's cranked in a few southern bluefin with very minor assistance, but we're hoping the aforementioned outfit provides as much as possible the leverage advantage in his favour. Certainly looking forward to watching him land some school sized southern blues and his first (at least, rat) kings unassisted.
A forum search has unveiled a few options but with braids coming and going, figured an update was worthwhile. Anyway, looking for recommended jigging lines around PE2 + or -, and how many metres the 4000 is likely to accommodate? Thanks in advance Seal1 |

Don't no if you would class it as jigging braid ,but I have about 265m of 30 lb Finns on my fj if that helps

Hey mate. Have a look at the toray power jigging. I've got the pe2 on a 4000 Stardic fk. Fit 200 metres on it plus backing. Very nice line easy to knots. Easy to manage winds knots/twist. Lay's nicely on the spool. Around 60 dollars a spool

On a 4000 sized stradic? You sure about that mate? 30 lb fins is pretty thick

I've got the Gomoku Kaiten on a 4000FJ Stradic also. However for convenience sake I went with Sufix 832 20lbs. I can't remember how much I fit on but it certainly wasn't a full spool of 300yds like I purchased. I'd go with a Toray Jigging PE Powergame PE2 (25lbs) Jigging braid if I had my time over again. Whilst I've never had an issue running the sufix with it's overstated breaking strain, I just prefer the multi-colour of the Toray.

I'm running pe3 sunline super 5 braid on a Biomaster 4000 - put it through a fair bit of work and so far no complaints

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions.
Very much like the idea of the suggested Toray Jigging as I'm a big fan of Toray's Sea Bass Power Game. Cheers S |

I use daiwa j braid on my jigging outfits, use 20lb on my shallow water rod and 50lb on my heavier outfit works a treat for me!

Can not go wrong with either Toray Super Strong PE Connected, or Toray Jigging PE Powergame.
Each spool of Toray Super Strong connected comes in spools of 100m which is connected to another spool, so it gives you the option of purchasing any amount of line you may need. I managed to land this brute over the weekend on PE3 Toray Super Strong connected, speaks volumes for the quality of the line!

while the price is right you may wish to treat yourself to the Daiwa UVF bayjigging. 6 braid + Si. PE 1.5 30lb 13.5kg 200m.
Seems to have a better breaking strength than the SW8 Braid + Si you see in b c f for $120+ Plat around the $45au, very last of the line they have. |
