Recommendation for 0.4 PE

Hi guys,

Just bought a 1003 Luvias reel and looking for an 8-strand quality 0.4 PE in 100m.

Any recommendations? I was looking at Varivas Super Trout Advance Bait Finesse http://www.digitaka-lures.com/item.php?item=32207 but don't know if it's good for the price....

Thanks!

would you look at yamatoyo resin sheller its 0.6 super thin casts a mile

I use it and I like it for the price

it says 0.6 but I think its closer to a thinner diameter then that

also not sure on the strands 4 or 8

I don't think you can get many types of 8 strand Pe 0.4 mate.
I've noticed most are a 4 strand,
Pe 0.6 there are plenty of options and if you're set on 8 strand will be fine.

Morning! All early risers I see.

Thanks for the recommendations Ill check them out.

For PE 0.6, i probably would get Sunline Castaway. You get 10lb, it's 8 strand and cast silky smooth on my Steez.

Mate don't get me wrong I used it for a while but you'll find way better than castaway if you're happy to by from Japan.

Castaway 10lb for me was a bit rough and fluffy, I reckon it's Pe 0.8 not 0.6 side by side with others.
Wx8, g soul, daiwa varivas etc all smoother and thinner in 0.6.

Been using castaway for 7 years, silky smooth and never gone fluffy. Very strange comment that.

Yeah Castaway is a good braid but it falls short of some of the other Jap PE's. I agree that the weave feels a bit rougher and possibly expands a bit due to water retention. Don't get me wrong, it is a smooth braid, but there are some braids out there that are silky smooth. There's not much in it, but the differences are noticeable. On the upside, it ties awesome knots.

It got a bit shabby about the last metre before my leader knot and I would find myself having to check it. Little strands coming off the line and when it was dry it was fluffy.
Heaps smoother out there but it does the job.

all good Matt😉 we all have different experiences with line. If anything i find it too smooth and flys off the reel too far making me dock the boat and go bush looking for the lure😁

My favourite braid is Sunline Rockfish in PE 0.4

Casts a mile, great strength, worth the money.
