Scratches on rods.

So this morning I plucked out my trusty old Pflueger XTR out of the rack and gave it a quick inspection, noticed that the last time when I took it fishing in a mates tinny - which is a professional fishing boat so isnt in the best condition. His puppy managed to knock the rod and the rod slipped along the gunwale and I got a skid scratch about 2cm on the bluish blank on the side which is always in sight.

So what does one do?

I have one of those Dupont Scratch Repair Sticks - which works pretty great on cars paintwork at hiding scratches and chips.

Attainable from Woolworths, Supercheap Auto, Autobarn etc etc etc

So on the pinpoint side of the nib (of the scratch stick) I basically edged the rub mark and did a few more around the rod which may have been caused by hooks or god knows? All dried up and looks unnoticeable, basically hides the scratches and blends them in.

And quiet happy with the result, was too hard to show however with a fine approach you could make some of the annoying scratches disappear. Also would help those trying to pass off well used rods as near new
