Looking for a new rod

Hey lady's and gents,

I am currently in the market for a new bream stick I am quite picky with what I like but thought I would pose the question on here, I am looking for some thing fast actioned and stiff, in the 6'6" to 6'10" range ( a stiff 2-4 or 2-5kg) currently the Phoenix M1 is leading the pack also under $400 would be nice.

Let me know what you recommend!

Cheers

Best option would be to try and get a cheapish custom on an m1 blank.

First of all, from memory you don't like split grips?
Second, I can't remember what guides they had but they struggled casting anything over 8lb.

You should be able to source a blank from Martin lo.

Good luck with tbe search.

Check out the Edge Rods from fishtec, the black widow range
Be careful they have long butts with the reel seat sits some 2" towards the rod tip than short butt versions which means you effectively loose 2" of effective rod length
The 702-1 or 703-1 would probably suit you
Also see recent thread from Fishtec
Give Rod a call he can answer all your questions

I'd love to know where you can find BW Edge rods for under $400.

Deacs speak to Brad Mac, he can make you a custom from the lair rod on a MHX blank. You should see some of the rods he has made for crew, pretty sweet.

I just bought a Battler 1-2kg but they also have a 2-4kg. I only got mine yesterday and haven't had a chance to use it yet but if you're keen on this rod i found somewhere that has them for $450. I know it's a bit over your budget but pm me if you're interested.

Sometimes Pretty easy to forget how much you spend On lures
I still dont get it mate. I thought Edge are $700+

5 dunks = $150, + $400 = $550

Anyway, like chris, id definitely check out the battlers. Only slightly over budget and theres bound to be one that suits what you want.
