Tackle shops - Tokyo
Does anyone have recommendations for tackle stores in or around Tokyo? I've got a week there and am planning on visting a few shops, with a view to getting a new reel. I've been in touch with Kazu from Japan Angler. Any tips would be much appreciated.

Hey Mate,
There's a good Sansui (a chain fishing store, but large range of premium gear - http://fishingtackle-sansui.com/en/) about 5 mins walk from Shibuya station. It doesn't open until 10 but there's a Maccas just down the road if you get there too early ![]() Honestly you'd have to be pretty lucky to stumble across a fishing store without knowing exactly where it is - there are just so many buildings and shops. Give Google Maps a go near where you're staying and should do alright (https://www.google.com/maps/search/t.../data=!3m1!4b1). Brad |

I'll be heading to these shops when I go to Japan later this year. |

Thanks fellas
I got along to Sansui, there are 3: the one closest to Shibuya had what looked like carp gear (extendable poles); the other 2 a bit further down Meiji st were good but not a very large range of gear. They do have a fairly good collection of Shimanos in sizes 1000 and upwards. Not a particularly huge range of lures. I didn't get along to Joshua's (the other one mentioned in that rc fishing blog). Kazu from Japan Angler recommended Casting near Shinnihonbashi station, haven't been there yet. Clicking on the shop logo takes you to a map (on my iphone at least). Kazu shop's in Chiba prefecture somewhere, which is a way out of tokyo. http://castingnet.jp/shop_nihonbashi/access |
