Reel size
What Daiwa reel size sits in between Shimano 1000 and 2500 size.
I mean actual dimensional size. |

Yeah I am struggling with it, my 3000 certate is as big as my 4000 stradic. I am looking for some reels to fit into the gap between 1000 and 2500 size. Been looking at 2000 size shimano options from Japan ( biomaster or twinpower) but not really sure of the actual size differences. I know the 2000 c has the 1000 body with a larger spool, not sure about the rotor size. Not sure about a 2000s maybe shallow spool but what body and rotor size.
Wondering if a decent Daiwa fits the gap, 2000 size being the obvious choice or are they more like a 2500 Shimano. Not fussed about super light weight reels. Trying to gain a little casting distance and length in the reel stem to clear my hand holding the front grip of the rod. Been running 1000 FH Stradics on these outfits for years, no problems they are just getting old, all the new 1000 reels are so compact and have smaller handle lengths. |

I have both 2000 size daiwa's and 2500 shimano's, the 2000 daiwa is marginally smaller.

I was talking to Shimano today and the plan to bring in some higher end models in a 2000 size, approx September.
