new outfit, something different!

Want to get away from braid in this outfit, all my bream gear has braid.

what are the advantages and disadvantages of straight through?

On my new up and coming outfit 1-3kg, thinking a spool of 2 - 3lb straight through fluro.

what is the best fluro on the market?

What do you guys use?

Thanks

Advantages :
abrasion resistance
Less visible
Sink rate
No knot connections
Price

Disadvantages:
Less feedback
lower breaking strain
Line management (memory )

I use flurocarbon for all my crankbaits and minnows when bream luring, once you get a hang of the difference in sensitivity it can be a real weapon in your arsenal. Not to mention with winter here great for deep water applications including vibes blades etc.

A great addition to your lineup and no reason not to have a rod and reel rigged like this.

I use
Sunline Super FC Sniper
and
Daiwa Brave

I am currently on the gold coast but did most of my bream FC fishing in Merimbula lake, Bega River, Wonboyn lake and Mallacoota.

FC straight through is less viable the further north you go really, too many trevally and lucanid species which will turn you into a lure disposal unit in summer. Winter still plenty of deep sections on the GC to do some deep water breaming.

Use Berkley Vanish for straight through on two setups, I have never run 2-3Lb though. Use 5Lb and have only lost lures on a handful of occasions in a couple of years. The memory is pain a though I will admit and does twist up a bit. I like it for the ability to cut chaffed line away and not need to tie an albright knot with cold hands.
