i think i replied to your earlier post, but the forum glitches seem to have lost the thread. I have two icon rods in 1-3kg, the wolverine (662 and fast) and the vermin (702 with a slower tip). I bought the 702 and found it a little soft for the plastics fishing i do, but it'd be perfect for hards. have only used it for half an hour or so, and it's sat on the rack since.
the wolverine is my favourite rod atm and i use it as much as possible. Both rods feel like they have balls although i've only landed fish on the 662. CA rosebud said they are from the same factory as lox, and look verrrry similar to my eyes. Fuji SiC guides. I've not used any other 1-3kg sticks, so keep in mind that im only comparing one to the other. |

Gday Basti,
Thanks for the reply, I did wonder what happened to the post, Agreed the rod Blanks are identical down to the wording and the font , but for way less money. I am going to get the equivalent of the 7023 and try it out , i do like the feel of my Lox LS 7023. will keep you posted Steve J |

hi steve
I have a wolverine and find it a bit too whippy at the tip for my liking in the last 30cm or so, to me the taper increases unnaturally in relation to the rest of the rod in that last section...... and I do like fast taper rods! I have used it mostly flicking plastics with 1/16 jig heads. also I have noticed that the guides have all got slight surface rust already even though I rinse all my rods with rain water after each use and dry before storage, the rod has been used 4 times. I guess this post shows this rod in a poor light but I am quite happy with it except for the rust issue, cheers chris |
