Respooling a few reels with new braid
Need some suggestions for braided lines.
30lb for Cod fishing, one reel, needs good abrasion resistance, was thinking Sunline PE8 strand as Unitika light jigging only goes to 25lb. 12lb for general saltwater work in southern vic, 4 reels to do, don't need super quality just looking for long lasting , natural colour and reasonable cost. |

For cod, assuming BC gear, I just use fins IMO - cheap, strong and all-round good.
As for 12, sunline castaway is really nice but not cheap |

Unitika Super PE jigging goes from 5lb to 35lb. Roughly $20 a spool of 200m
Unitika Power Jigging goes up for 52lb. Roughly $25 for 200m $35 for 300m Varivas High Grade PE 9lb to 26lb. $20 a spool of 150m Varivas Avani Jigging 10x10. 12lb to 77lb. From $30 @ 200m spools Duel Hardcore x8 13lb to 30lb. $23 for 150m spools. These are the braids I've come to rely on. Havent had a problem with any. |
