Same thing all over again 2015

Hi All this is my first post on Bream Master Forums and I am hoping on an answer to this question.
I have just put a deposit down on a top ender 481.
It is my intention to put a minkota 24 volt 80 thrust on the vessel but I am not sure if two AGM 12v 120 amp hrs deep cycle batteries will fit into the forward battery compartment or maybe your answer to the problem should it exist
All help would be appreciated thanks

I think I have the answer to this problem I intend to have a aluminium water proof box attached to the front casting deck or floor this would be big enough to take the RGM batteries and ctec 20 volt 14 amp charger wired into batteries when the Minkota is disconnected I plug the charger into circuit there would also be a partition in the box to store tackle the lid on the box would the be the same carpet as the rest of the vessel.
please let us know what you think of this idea I really appreciate all of your inputs on this thanks in advance woy woy col

That's a lot of weight to have up front wwc but I'm no expert on boat fit outs.
Apart from lifting two into my boat

The batteries would be sitting more to mid ships and most of the weight being in the middle of the vessel a total weight including weight of aluminium box would less than 80kg that being a small frame man and then I could trim vessel out to suit conditions on the day.

Good morning Mark M I was just reading your post to PMac on asking for his banking details on my post perhaps you should have PM him on the matter of his banking details good luck with the lottery just one other question who is Kim Mickle and how did you get her leotards do you wear them, or are they on display as some dream you may have had in the pass.

Please do not take offence to my reply this is my humour but I would not do a drop on other people post.

Point taken, there are many threads about fit-outs in the "hulls" forum,

http://www.breammaster.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=25

here is an example of a 'box' built amidships albeit a live well in this case.

http://www.breammaster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8496

Not sure I would be storing my tackle in the same container as batteries though.

im with PMac on this one 80 kg in a 4.8 mtr boat up front is not good sense to have it in the back half much much better for all senarios when your fishing alone and using your front casting platform it would be like fishing up the front with a mate to heavy in the nose where if you locate in the back half this is where the bouyancy comes from your hull and is designed to carry more weight for all types of conditions
good luck with your fit out

HI Mark box design according to telwater quintrex div, and there drafting people.
That there would not be a problem with this setup.
However it is there policy not to change the model of any of there boats and that is across all brands .
They did say that does not mean they will not go this way in the future with a dedicated battery is this position
I still would be interested in hearing from every one about all there ideas and thoughts on this matter both positive and negative alike.

80lb Kota throws my bass boat around no probs.
Are you set on a 24v motor?
The 12v aren't slugs by any means.
Power to weight ratio thing.

Hi PMac it is my understanding that a minkota RT80ST is 24 volts the BLA product code is 601476 and that is with a 60 inch shaft.

The BLA CODE for a 54 inch shaft RT6074. They are both 24 volt and 80 pound thrust
There is a 36 volt motor bla code 112ST with 112 max thrust
A 55 thrust is 12 volt and 80 thrust is 24 volt and a 112 volt is 36 volt
BLA are the inporters of Minkota products in Aust.
Maybe things different in WA? What size battery are you using on your 80lbs thrust Minkota trolling motor 24 volt or two 12 volt

My mistake col, should have mentioned Motorguide which was the 12v I was referring to. Had a 46lb on a 4m Hornet.
I have the 80lb Fortrex, 52" shaft.

on the topic of trolling motors I recently changed from Kota to motor guide and to be honest the motor guide leave the Kota behind build quality is a little better with the Kota but the performance differance out ways the build differences just a consideration I run mine off a 270 amp 12 v haze (70kg)and on the mgxi5 I get day where with the Kota I got maybe a day to 50 % which is a low as you should run these things

Thank you for your input to my question, I am really locked into the minkota motor. being that the deal that I have with the company does not sell motor guide.
By chance I was talking to the Lowrance rep at the shop today where I am buying my boat and he was talking about a search transducer that fits on the forward trolling motor but only on a motor glide apparently it sends a beam out ahead of the vessel and as you turn the motor the beam follows.

Like many things now most people know about before me including my grand sons
