What blank?

Hey guys,
To continue my past post on getting a purple combo, I have decided on a custom built rod made by Chris from CKR customs, have decided on guides (full torzites) and almost done with the reel seat design but haven't decided on a blank yet, ive been thinking about this a lot and have narrowed it down to 3 (I think) a samurai 203 blank, phenix elixir or finally a nitro vapor 7'
I fish mainly HB's in rivers and on the flats so I want something light weigh and extra sensitive
What do you guys think? And do you have any further suggestions?

Innovator (Nitro) do not supply blanks. may be an expensive option unless you have one already to strip and rebuild.

I have a Custom rod on a Phenix Elixr blank and find it to be a great rod for fishing hard bodies on the flats. These blanks are fairly parabolic, and very sensitive.

It also has Torzite guides and Matagi Reel seat.

I haven't used a Samurai so cant say which would be best, but IMO the Phenix is worth a look

Cheers Nick

What length are you chasing? 7'0", 7'3" or 7'6"

Also consider North Fork Composites, St Croix (Rod Geeks is their factory outlet and you can get SCIV in custom painted colours) and NS Black Hole. The Black Hole light spin blanks are very nice.

The 203 is a very soft blank, some would even say sloppy. I use one for HB but I have read lots of comments from people who don't like it.

Make sure you are sure of the 203 before you commit it to such an important rod.

Thanks for all the help guys, leaning towards the vapor, if I can get my hands on a blank (helps when you know the owner )
Next would be the elixir and the 203 is now out of contention as I felt one yesterday and it is extremely soft, something I don't mind but would prefer something a bit "harder"
Keep the suggestions coming

rod blank

Phenix or St Croix are my choice.
Where do you get the black hole blanks from? I thought they only sold made up rods.
Cheers Graham

Hahaha I thought of something similar http://northforkcomposites.com/product/fw-701-1-sm
Along with the Elixir FX701-1.

They're both analogous to the TSR blanks albeit a touch faster.

MHX make some nice blanks for the price. The S841 and S842 spinning blanks are very nice. I have one for hardbodies and cant fault it.

A couple more things to consider :
The 2 piece elixir blanks are faster than the one piece. Good flats rod - not sure I would use it in river snags.
The samurai 201 is faster than the 203 and probably a good all rounder.
The nitro would be stiffer than all of the above.
