Berkley Classic series TT / Zman Round 1 Results

In what can only be described as HOT conditions, 42 teams fished the Mandurah waterways to reap the rewards, on the most part teams did well securing bags of 4 fish while a couple of teams found the going tough. Once again the team 13 Fishing with Callum Dowell the top Ranked non boater in Australia at the moment showed the field how it was done.

Congratulations to all on a very impressive number of boats to weigh in fish with a remarkable only three boats missing out.

Thanks again to all of the competitors for coming along to have a shot!

Carey Nolan from Pontoon21 / Damiki secured the Watersnake $1000 big bream bounty with a fish around the 1.200 kg .

It helped them get 2nd place .

Thanks again to Ian, nick and everyone involved in running such a tight event, you made it look like you've been running it for years also to Dror and Co for the bacon and eggs in the morning, top effort!

Yeah my 1.2kg fish propped us up by an extra 800g or so, a fish and fight that I will not forget for quite some time that's for sure. I've said it to a few but it was probably the best comp in a long time to get that fish. Huuuge thanks to watersnake for supplying such an awesome prize! We were stoked.

Thanks to all the boys from WAFM for such a great day and having everything very well organised also to the many sponsors who contribute and donate the prizes. The breakfast was amazing and made a great start to the day also.
Was good to see so many fish caught with nearly everyone weighing in some fish. And the conditions where just perfect couldn't have asked for a better day.
I look forward to seeing you all at the next round tight lines.

Was so good to see alot of people at the flowrite weigh in tank!
Fantastic comp, such a postitve event not only for everybody involved but for the scene.
I love pulling up a chair at the presentations also.

we had a cracking day, another comp in which the events of the day could be made into a book ;p
2 big upgrades at the very end proved you gotta grind all day and not loose composure.
Thanks to WAFM and all the sponsors for the large prIze pack and the cash prize, much appreciated!
These 13 rods have changed me!!!

Congratulations

Congrats to team 13, a bit jealous I didn't get to this event. Looks like everyone had a good day. Does anyone want to spill the beans on what river system the top three winning bags came from?

Another well run event ,even tho he was not there Craig has left a solid foundation on which he has built over the last 10 years and left the W.A tournament scene in healthy state.

Well done to Ian, Nick and Richo ,running to and fro like idiots making sure everythings running smoothly at the launch and later weighin,,thanks to Dror for cooking breakfast and to Ian's wife helping at the breakfast scene as well & Yardi for the lamingtons.

Our day went awesome up to 10 am with the full bag and that gut feeling a big bream might be just lurking in the next snag, then the outboard played up and our biggest bream did not look like he was travelling as well as he should, after a lot of nursing at 12 we put the call in to Ian and asked if we could call it a day and weighin early and let the big fella have early parole.(Request was granted)

Thanks to Rob & Shane (Dunking for donuts) for the tow,, John Osbourne (Team Yellaterra) for all his assistance getting my boat ready in the leadup,Joe Franco for going out of his way to pick up 2 foot peddles out Manjinmup way & everybody that helped check out the outboard at the weighin,,,Grumpy Old Men Tony & Gazz identified a problem with the fuel line going into the petrol tank,it was not 100% locking in and had a small amount of play & this stops the bulb from primeing (It stayed flat when pumping and starved the fuel.

Fantastic weighin despite the heat the crowd really gave the whole place a great vibe and feel about the place & we were happy going away with a bag of goodies for 7th place & well done to the winners.

Now to do it all again next Sunday the 15th Feb in the kayak section (Launch near the park at Garrett road bridge) i reckon we might get around 40 kayaks it will be a cracker see everyone there

Team Dark Horses (Colin Peasey & Susie)

Oh i should mention Susies had a years break and has done well in her first comp back, looking at her records her last two comps were 4th in a Grand Final and 2nd prior to that fishing both times with Callum Dowell so she has not lost her fishing Mojo and caught the biggest on sunday.

Thanks Ian and crew for the day. My son Scott was so excited to compete for the first time in a comp, and he landed a couple nice fish during the morning, so he felt that he added to the 8th placing (which he did). The high fives were running wild throughout the day with a huge excitement when I pulled a 36 to the boat an hour before the end of the session. It was great to share that with my son, and he has not stopped talking about the day. Funny enough, once we got home, cleaned up and showered, he said that he wanted to go back out and have an arvo session. This was while the adrenaline was still running through his veins (an hour later it was a whole different story haha). He has now got the competition bug and can't wait until the next time. These youngsters are the future of breaming and these new rules will certainly help see some young men coming through the ranks. A big thanks to Ian for making this possible. Also a big thanks to the sponsors for donating the great prizes that make all of this possible. A very well organised day. Thanks
