5lb power pro alright?

Is the 5lb power pro alright line for light tackle fishing in your opinions? It's fairly cheap and I've never once seen a bad review about it. I'll be using it mainly for redfin and some yellowbelly, with occasional trips to the coast. I have noticed that it is a little thick for the rated bs, but it still seems like good line. Or is there another line I should be looking at?

Most people on here arent great fans of it but personally i like it a lot. Especially for heavier application. Correct it's a bit thick so go down a size and it's strong as hell. Colours fade pretty quick and there is a minor line twist memory problem.
Overalls it's great for the price and very reliable stuff. I have several reels spooled with it.

Got the same 5lb on my stradic and had no problems. Worked fine today on some reddies and yellows. it's pretty good foe the price. The other to look at for a similar price is the fire line exceed which will also do the job no probs.

I have been using it for over a year and have had no problems with it. I have even landed a three kilos snapper on it while fishing for bream at Paynesville.
I also use 8lb on another outfit I fish for Flathead and last November got Flathead of one meter at Lake Tyers.

It's decent and breaks well over the stated breaking strain. It will serve you well but if you want something that bit nicer i.e., smoother for more casting distance then a Japanese PE would be better.

ive been using it for years now and I love it.

all my rods have it from 20lb snapper gear to 3 lb ultra light bream and trout gear.

I can not fault it other then it fades and minor line twist which is no biggie.

it will do you justice for its price.

I don't doubt its' fish catching ability but it's flat and loosely braided. Bothers me a lot. Sunline Super PE I think is better.

Yeah I do really like the fireline exceed, if i can get it in blaze orange at my local I'll go with 4.4lb fireline exceed. And I do agree that super pe is thinner and smoother, but I get a few windknots and I've had a couple of breakages randomly, nothing major but I want a line I can 100% trust. I know i can trust fireline, and people seem to to trust pp. But I think I'll go with fireline excced just because it is pretty thin. If I ever need a good braid for a heavier setup (cod, barra etc), I'll def strongly consider pp.

+ 1 on the exceed.But i wouldn't mind trying the power pro.
I think most lines fade these days don't they. But the exceed hasn't let me down.
