Daiwas new Auto tournament drag.. Why!

This sounds like the biggest head ache of all time. Hopefully I can somehow remove this feature because I was planning on buying 3 of these. Please can somebody tell me why?

ATD - another terrible daiwa...

but - its quite a smart feature and will help those that forget to take water pressure on line into consideration...

I'd be surprised if there's any noticable difference to what we know and use.
Just marketing, there's gotta be a reason to buy the new exist as it's just a new look and magseal bearings.
I dunno why it's in the freams you'd like to think freams and exist don't run the same drag?!

Although I wouldn't actively seek such a feature, I did experience a situation where this would have been handy.

I'm not experienced in long fights with Pelagics on lighter gear but last week I hooked up to a good yellowfin tunA that was destroying my branzino, after 150m of line was out it went ping and all over. I didn't increase the drag but the extra line out with blistering runs obviously put a lot more pressure on the line than I thought. Was a good lesson that's for sure.

probably no point critisising the technology when none of us have really tried it yet. as stated above it will prob be more subtle that we think. I dont think daiw would introduce this technology without extensive field testing in a variety of conditions.
