Plastic prawn & weedless jig head

I'm heading up north for a trip in 6 weeks. Last time i fished there i took 3 zerek prawns in the largest size and lost them all to unstoppables in shallow reefs in about 2 hours. Very effective lures in that location but not keen to lose 20 plus in the five days I'll be there!

i need to find 1/2 ounce weedless jig heads (tt only seem to go up to 1/4) and a plastic prawn of say 90-100mm that looks as close to a zerek as possible. Any ideas?

if i can make something up that looks like the zereks but costs half as much I'll be much happier to lose a few and chuck them in the real gnarly places.

Citer prawns plastics are really good especially in the larger size. Also you can make a weedless jig, get some unweighted worm hooks and sinkers to desired weight, rig your sinkers into a loop knot attaching the hook.

there's actually a few good articles online about fishing them in north Qld on a weedless set up consisting of a worm hook and ball sinker in a loop. That's the answer. Thanks guys!
