Thank you to all of the Yakkers who have entered so far, if you can get your entries in early it will certainly be very appreciated as part of your entry fees will be getting put back into the prize pool so if you enter on the day you are doing everyone a disservice as the payout will have already been sorted out.

Prizes this year will consist of cash / product / gift vouchers.

We anticipate that first place will secure themselves in the vicinity of about $700-00 to $800-00 in cash and prizes.

Hobie have come on board and supported big Bream for the Yak series and we will be offering $500-00 each round for The Hobie Big Bream.

It is shaping up to be a great year for the Yak series and we are all looking forward to seeing you at the first event.

The pre fish ban has begun for the Getaway Outdoors Kayak Series Engel Round 1.

The start / Briefing and weigh in location will be at the end of Milne st in Bayswater.

https://goo.gl/maps/Uyxsf

If everyone could use the main parking areas it would be very appreciated, there is a small area at the end of the road where the scout hall is for loading and unloading, however it is small and only limited yaks will be able to use it effectively. If you have wheels or a trolley maybe use the car park, if you have no wheels or trolley or require assistance to get your boat off your roof / trailer use this area.

Looking forward to a great day.

We will be providing bacon and egg sandwiches, Muesli, coffee and tea in the morning. We will also provide a small pack with a few snacks and a water to take out on the water with you.

As with the Boat round we have waived the late fee for the first round, however we do ask that you get your entry in ASAP if you intend to fish.

If you intend on entering on the day we are unable to supply you with any of the extras Breakfast or snack bags as we will not have catered for you, and the late fee will apply.

As this round is an Engel Round, first prize is a $800 Engel fridge Freezer 40ltr.

After seeing guys paddle in excess of 20km at the grand final and after experiencing how comfortable and easy to cover distance the new Hobie Kayaks are I would not be at all surprised if someone makes the trip up the canning in an event in the near future.

The pre fish ban extends from the old Fremantle traffic bridge to all of its connected waters upstream. Including the Canning river system.

Would be a mighty effort! You'll have the easterly in your back to help you along the way and possibly the seabreeze to assist you back so the canning is definitely not out of the question.

Btw great work guys in securing another 40+ field! Will be interesting to see if round 1 can exceed 50 entrants the second year running!
