How 2 get spooky bream

I mainly fish around downstream yacht clubs, where the water is clear, so the bream are super spooky What type of retrieve method should I use when usin sps like berkley bass minnows, and tiny grubs like 2"sliders and 2"atomic grubs? also does a lighter jighead help?

spinner,

i had the same problem recently when i went down to spyc. The water was ultimately clear and i could see all the bream. So i'd carefully release the softie down and the bream would shoot off to have a look at it and inspect, but as soon as i gave any sudden movement to the jig, they would shoot off. So ended up just lifting the jig up and down, and the bream would have goes at it on the way down, but they could'nt catch upto it. i would think that the lighter jig like a 1/32 would help a lot. yeah so i'd also like to hear what some of the other experienced guys have to say.

cheerz,

Phil

Try fishing unweighted plastics. I know it's a pain waiting for them to sink, but it's a more natural presentation.

I'd have to agree with Swoffa on un-weighted softs.
Tha Gama Worm-G-lock hooks work well, with Siglon sinking leader
You could try one wrap of fine solder around the keel of the hook for those softs that refuse to sink or insert a short length inside the placcy, like a needle.

Scented plastics are a must.

Also try the 'do nothing' approach, bream are flighty but curious fish and may follow the plastic down and suss it out as a meal.

Rather than a worm hook, I'd use a standard "panfish" style hook. That way there will be a heap of point sticking out and it's easier to hook up, especially with the "do nothing" approach.
