I picked up the Knot Assist 2.0 from Plat and it works fine. Obviously practice makes perfect.

I got one of these too and really like it.
Makes tying an FG quick and easy, even in a rocking boat or kayak.

Just ordered the 2.0 from Plat, thanks again for the help Looking foward to using it on some lighter connections that are a bit fiddly without a tool.

I also have a bobbin for tying the PR knot like MBP suggested and it is just as quick and easy as the FG.

Can anyone tell me which knot is said to be stronger PR or FG? Or does one have benefits over the other in different situations?

It would be good if someone could subtitle it or over dub it in English.

For a second there I thought you were after a tool tying an FG knot

If you ever lose the FG knot tying tool it might be handy to have another method up the sleeve.

You can churn out a fair few in a row, pretty quick with this method and it works just as well with 3lb line

Hey Larry, great tutorial, as usual, however it was a bit dark at times to see the exact way of how you weaved the leader around the braid. Did you alternate the leader over the braid (making it similar to a criss-cross pattern)?

Is there a more clearer version of the same footage or an alternative clip you can point me to?

The bit with the half hitch locking is pretty much standard to all of the FGs I've seen, thanks.

Cheers,

Cheers,
Yeah its a figure 8 pattern - you figure 8 the leader in and out of the V - keeping tension on all lines as you go - it wont work without tension

I'll stick a close up on youtube tonight
