Ci4+ 2500 heavier rod?

Thoughts on matching a 2500 CI4+ to a 3-6kg rod for Flathead, Small mullies, rat kings and the like? Using 8lb braid?

Sounds like a good combo! Maybe 10lb braid instead?

Just got an Omen Black 7'1" 6-12lbs to match up to a 2500 Stella to chase mulloway. Looking to use it over the next few days. Feels very nice in the hand ... and the 20% off from fishin.com helped . Regards, HBt..

Thumbs up

G,day Scissors.
You turn up everywhere, always good to see fellow South Ozzies about.
I would be going 10-12lb for what you are targeting.
8lb would cast a mile, but that would be the only benefit I see.
And you would end up spooled in no time anyway.
How's the fishing up in Port Pirie mate?
