Deep hard body rod?

Just after abit of input on what makes a good deep hards rod? And what does everyone on here throw deep hards with? Im in the market for a rod to mainly throw 48dunks, dc75s and deep chubbys, I find my current rods abit soft and fold away once the lures down deep.

I use a 6'7 and 7' tournament specialist bream and they're perfect for throwing DC's and dunks. In my last few trips to gippy it's pretty much all I've used.

something like a dsr 820GLX would fit the bill, Great for larger hards, topwaters and plastics, was a couple of cheap ones in the classifides section a couple of weeks back

Mate look at more of a 2-4kg stiffer blank, a 1-3 will feel too loaded and bogged down on a slow roll in my opinion.
The rod choices are endless from there !

Thanks for the input guys. Will have a feel of the mentioned rods. Just want something stiff enough to work the lure properly but soft enougj I guess to not pull hooks

I use my 6'6'' Nitro Vapor for these sorts of tasks, where a bit of muscle is required. For some reason the 6'6'' model seems to be noticeably stiffer than either the 7' or 6' models. It has power to burn, yet it's rated as a 1-2kg rod.

I throw all the lures you mention and I use either a Loomis SR with a 2012 Luvias 2004 or a Duffrods X series with a 2010 Certate 2000. Generally use the second before the first these days. Just something about the combination and the stiffness in the Duff. Good luck with your choice. Regards, HBt.

Slow taper is no problem for slow rolling deep but sounds like you don't like the feel of it. If you want to twitch them deep get something with a bit of a faster taper.
