varivas high grade PE

Just wondering what everyone thinks of this line? Just ordered some PE 0.6 for a 2506 luvias, also wondering how much backing i should put on for a perfectly filled spool if anyone has done it. I'd expect with such a shallow spool it will only be enough backing to cover the spool?

Good line, I run the pe0.8 on my daiwa freams. Only had 1 wind knot in the 6 months I've used it (at my fault).

I have Avani Seabass Premium coming tomorrow in the post. A step up from High Grade.

But the breaking strains of this line are similar to Super PE, so I think the line would be similar to it. I've had a few Varivas products before and they have never let me down.

150m of #0.6 is perfect for a 2506. No need for backing.

No issues with line spinning on the spool? Always been led to believe the braid will slip without backing unless the spool has the rubber pads?

I've got it in .6 and .8 on 3 of my reels and I really like it. No fuss at all which is what you want. I've got .8 on my 2506, but reckon it's over spooled a bit so 150 of .6 would be better. I didn't use any backing.

always use backing you might not think its slipping but it will even if you only use a meter or two

good braid for what it is. This is the stuff I caught a black marlin on, from memory 15lb on a Sustain 2500FG.

much the same as Super PE. Its no 8 weave braid so enjoy it for what it is. Honest, cheap, braid.
