Bream Newbie

Hey folks,

Long-time lurker on the forums, thought I'd finally sign up and post cos a couple of members recommended it.

Do most of my fishing in Sydney's inner west/inner east. Started fishing in Australia at the beginning of the year, so I'm still a bit of a newb in general, but uber keen to learn (spend most of my nights these days watching fishing vids and reading forums). I try and get out once or twice a week, three times when the missus is away.

Biggest bream so far hasn't been a whopper- 28 cm on chicken, but I just got into plastics fishing a couple of months ago and managed my first couple on crabbies at the weekend. They seem like a really fun fish and fight well on light gear. Really wanna break that 30 cm mark now!

Recently upgraded my spinning tackle, so I now use an Itchy Twitchy with a Stradic FJ and 3lb power pro, couple of forum members gave me a load of advice when picking the new outfit, so cheers to them.

Hopefully hook up with a nice fat bream soon!

Welcome to the forum. That's great stuff buddy, keep at it, it's addictive, and adrenaline pumping. You'll break the 30 mark soon enough.

Haha! Knew you'd be around here somewhere. Yup, Inner West at the weekend sounds good. Work lunch on Saturday for a couple of hours, but other than that I'm free.
