Hey guys
Wanna pick up a 7ft 1-3kg struddie for placcies in the next few weeks. My budget is around $250 max and in my neck of the woods i can get either 1) Sic Stick- RRP $169 2) Sic Stick PRO- RRP $209 3) SPS- RRP $240 My query is regarding the makeup and feel of the rods in question. To me the differences are minor although as all tacklo's would they reckon they are rather substantial as they try to sell you the most expensive stick yet cannot differentiate much component wise between the 3. To those who have had a chance to use the rods in question/know much about struddies. Is the price difference in the 3 rods worth paying for? Are the SPS blanks different to that of the sic stick range? Doesn't help that strudwick dont have their website up yet so any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I`ll give this a go as I have a few Strudwick rods. The SPS I am not too sure on but as far as I know this model is discontinued and the Sic Stic Pro is taking over that end of the market. I could be wrong on this though. The Sic Stic and Sic Stic Pro are worlds apart in my opinion. I just recently bought a 6'6" 1-3kg Sic Stic Pro as a spare soft plastics rod and I would have to rate it as the best value for money rod I have ever used or seen. It is a much lighter, crisper rod than the regular Sic Stic and has better guides. I have tried it with both soft plastics and small hard bodies and it does a great job. I use a 6'6" 1-3kg Softbodz Finesse as my main plastics rod and I don`t think it is twice the rod. If I were you I would buy the Sic Stic Pro but that is just my opinion and others may disagree. Good luck with it anyway.
Cheers, Dror |

Go the SPS for sure. I own one and absolutely loved fishing with it untill the tip of it got caught while driving past a tree in a boat..poor thing blew up big time. The SPS I had was the 1-3kg 6'.
The SPS is now the Softbodz range I believe..same deal with the TPS now known as the Softbodz Finesse. I've also owned a SicStick which was a nice little rod, but I would rather an SPS over a SicStick anyday. I'm yet to use a SicStick Pro but I agree with Dror on it being a good value for money rod since it has Alconites. Get the best rod you can afford, in that range and your budget, it's the SPS.
