reel help needed

hey guys
looking for a reel to match up onto one of my heavier bream rods. looking to run some 0.8pe on it and often use it for chasing flatty and jew. now i wanted something roughly the same body size as a 2004 certate but with a larger spool capacity and higher drag setting. is a 2500 comparable in the body or is it much larger. or would there be an equivalent in the shimano range (or other brand)? i put my stella 2500 on the rod and despite being roughly the same weight as my other certate it feels like its too large for the rod. is anyone familiar with the 2000 sized stellas? or are they just a 1000 with a bigger spool? im probably being too fussy but if anyone could offer an opinion that would be great.

You could get a vanquish or stella in C2500 HGS from japan, if you can deal with the high gear and shallow spool.

The 2500 daiwa size is bigger than the shimano 2500 by a fair bit.

It looks like the Stella 10' 2000 is physically smaller than the 2500 but it only has 4kg of drag and is not high gear so it would be about as fast as a high gear shimano 1000 size.

The 14' Stella doesn't seem to have a non-shallow version of the 2000 from what I can see.

A way cheaper option if 4kg is enough would be a new ballistic ex 2000h or caldia SHA. Same size as as a certate 2004 but Fits 200m of pe 1 and has higher gear ratio.

even if you got a compact vanquish you could easily get a spare deep spool from plat or something.

the c2500s said they will take 150m of 0.8pe which should be plenty in the areas im fishing. gonna be out of a boat most times anyway so can always chase. will just have to choose a nice braid to go with whichever one now

You'd probably get a full spool of 12lb unitika aorika II on there in that case, that'd be my pick.

Hey mate. For some reason i own a heap of 2010 model stellas. So ive had to learn all the different body/rotor/spool sizes between em.

Anyway, the 2000 is what you want! Has the body of a 2500 but a smaller rotor and spool. 4kg of drag, weighs 210 grams and holds 200m of PE 1.2

Thatd be my choice anyway.
