Stella or Branzino ?

Looking to get a decent 3000 reel and can get a superseded Stella 3000 FE or maybe look at a Morethan Branzino 3000 original model or the new one out on the market. Using this for heavy plastics. Not really into the Daiwa v Shimano debate but making the right choice.

It comes down to what u feel is best for u man.. Stella fe good reels and branzino good reels I'd lean more to branzino but that's me have a feel of both matched on a rod and see what u think I sold my stella 4000 and I still have my branzino why because I like it

I have both. The stella has remained perfect since I bought it 3 years ago. It has a very solid, connected feel and an incredible drag. The branny feels lighter to wind and is starting to feel slightly rougher than new now, but still has super smooth drag. The Branny looks cooler.

That's what I was going to ask. I guess it will be a matter of having a play with either reel. I've always had Shimano's and have been happy with these but over the last few years have had a few smaller Certates that have been good so far. I'm leaning toward the Stella but will have a good look at both.

This comes up so often. Comparing 2 very different reels in my opinion.

The ratio's and retrieve rates between these 2 are considerably different depending on individual models. It would make fishing between each one feel different. You need to consider what you like and what you are doing with it.

They are also made of different materials. One is magnesium body and one is an alloy.

If I had to choose one of these reels for heavy plastics work it would be the Daiwa with the more rigid body.

Some people don't care about these things but for me it matters. I suppose now you also need to find out what warranty you are getting. One is 10 years the other 5, possibly 1.

I had an original branny and traded in for a 3000 fe and have never looked back, the stella still feels as good as the day I bought it after countless hours and fish.

Have a think about how wet its likely to get too. The stella has a lot of holes in the spool, the bash plate etc.

I've had a new model branzino 2510 and now a stella fe 2500 and would choose stella out of the two. My reels stay dry though.

That's a 'no brainz' decision, I made that up from the letters of branzino

I have a mate who had both an really use to give them a work on barra with bigger plastics, also he used them for throwing slugs at tuna and jigging vibes for black jew and finger mark after a while the brany began to become noticible worn and quite noisy he now only uses the stella and believes its more suitable and stronger reel.
