hEY guys
I am probably getting a sic stik getting soon and want it in two piece. I originally tryied ordering a 6'6'' in the two piece but they werent available my other options were the 7' or 6' I was wonderin what length everyone prefers. I will be using the rod in the boat, on the flats. but also bush bashin so the 7' might be to big to cast under trees but the 6' might be to small for longer casting on the flats. firstly does a longer rod mean longer or easier casts or is the 6' ideal for all uses, im heading for the 6' but any suggestions or experiences with shorter or longer rods cheers luke |

To be honest Luke I prefer a longer rod all round. Shore bashing it gives you an extra foot to play a fish out of a snag and it means you can sit back a bit from a pylon and jig.
I really only use my 6' for narrow rivers these days.

Ditto with Bear... I've got a 7' SIC STIK myself and it works a treat! but at the end of the day it comes down to what you're comfortable using...

That's why you buy 2 rods... 1 7ft for longer casting, 1 6ft for tight spaces
That's what I tell my wife anyway. Personally I use a 7ft 2 piece rod (Loomis) and for me the important thing is not that its 7ft but the fact that its 2 piece. I also have a 6ft Loomis which NEVER sees any action because its one piece and I'll have put it across in my car and when I park somewhere, I'm afraid that the rod will call out to potential thieves being exposed and all. So, it never leaves the house. The 2 piece I can conceal somewhere and go for lunch in peace. The Sics, I take it they're 2 piece so you won't have that problem. If you're doing a lot of landbased, 7ft is more practical. |

cheers guys
ur definately starting to make me think about it. I do already have a 6' abu so a 7' sic stick may suit better I ve only got one reel and not enough money to buy another one is everybody sure the 6'6'' sic stik doesnt come in 2 piece coz that would be perfect ill just go into some shops and compare the 6' and 7' to see which one balances out on my reel the best and see what I prefer lengthwise thnks luke |
