Daiwa Ryoga Bay Jigging?

looking at buying either a daiwa ryoga 1012 bay jigging or a daiwa ryoga 2025 bay jigging was just wondering the size difference between the two. This will be used a light jigging setup but was wondering if i can still cast weights off around 1/2 ounce to a 3/8 ounce? Or should i stick to the standard ryoga. any feedback would be great

Decent difference in size.
I have both.

1012 I have with PE#1.5 and is my snapper/demersal reel up to 50m

The 2025 is my #2.5 outfit for samsons or deep dropping.

Ryogas are much better than plutons for jigging as they are purpose built for that.

The 1012 is an amazing reel, 300grams nice to palm 7kg of drag. So much torque.

Which size would be more suitable for throwing 4/5 inch plastics offshore and jigging for smaller kings and bottom dwellers in 55m of water ?

Thinking about just going the standard daiwa ryoga ! Just don't know what size 1016 or 2020 what do you guys recommend ? The fish I will be targeting are snapper and bottom species using 1/4 through to 3/4 ounce jig heads with 4 -7 inch plastics? Also I will be fishing in 30 to 60m metres !!

I have a regular ryoga in 1016 that I use for pitching 1/2 ounce plastics at mangrove jacks. They hold a reasonable amount of line but if I was fishing 60m often I would go with the 2020. Just dont plan on casting a 1/4 ounce with one, you will pull your hair out. They are tanks, not a finesse caster at all.

i fit 200m of 20lb radius on a 1016HL. What sort of line are you wanting to use on the reel?

Probably 20lb I'm not really worried about line more worried Ablut drag pressure.

A 1016 spool could hold 200m #2(35lb) PE. Do u need more line?

Nah 200m would be plenty of line just worries about drag as I'm gunna be using it for snapper around reef. Considering the 2020 and using just big plastics as I already have a few setups for smaller 4 inch plastics
