New to Bream Master

Hi All,

New to this forum, although I have poked around it for the last few years. I have only ever caught one legal size bream on a SP. And this was a 2" Berkley Gulp.

I grew up in the Sutherland Shire, but have spent the last ten years up the central coast. I found the fishing in the Hawkesbury / Brisbane Waters a lot easier, than I do the Port Hacking.

I'm land based, and usually go to the flats at the end of Mansion Point Road Grays Point for things like Flathead and Whiting. I also like to walk around Audley tossing lures at fallen timber in the hope of getting a bream or EP.

I’ve read a lot of books, watch videos and looked over this forum. But I do have a question for you all?

What is one or two tips, that you think would help me progress to be able to catch bream on SP's regularly?

Kind Regards
Andy

Welcome mate.

My biggest tip - find someone with some experience to show you the ropes and to get a few pointers.

A few months in to my breamin' experience I set up a catchup at a local fishing spot, posted it up on this site and made it an open invite for new and old members.

You'll make friends (most important), contacts (useful) and learn a few things (priceless).

I'm a big fan of self-learning from books, vids and youtube as well ..... but I learnt more in a few hours with experienced breamers than in weeks of self-learning. If you prefer to self-learn then you-tube and clips of people fishing is the way to go.... too many ways to interpret 'hop', 'pause', 'lift' etc from a book

Hi mate, I'm no expert, but my biggest tip would be:

Slow down your retrieve

Welcome to the site, plenty of info here, and a few helpful blokes to boot.
Local knowledge is key. Be observant with the feeding patterns, and the way the fish bite. Experiment with different retrieves etc.

Welcome mate, first starting out with the plastics for bream can be a bit daunting. But stick with it, keep the action slow and be patient, it'll pay off.
