Diawa Battler Beowolf 2-4kg
Hey Guy's,
Just bought the above rod, just need to match a reel with it. Do you have this rod and what reel do you have it matched with? What reel do you guy's recommend? Thanks.

Have the same rod and run a Certate 2004 with RCS spool and 4lb TD sensor.
Sick rod that casts light weights out of sight. Absolutely love mine - plenty of sensitivity and down low grunt. When I first got the rod I was planning on running a Certate 2506H on it, but found that the balance was way out with that size reel due to the extreme light weight of the rod and went down to a 2004 size. |

Got one and Run a certate 2500 on mine, have put one of my certate 2004's on it and it didn't feel right the rod feels way to powerful for a 2004 in my opinion and I reckon a 2500 just balances the rod better.
There's 2 completely different responses for you that should help you make up your mind haha. Just put both the 2500 and 2004 on the Rod and the balance point barley changes but I still reckon it feels a lot better with the 2500 tate Last edited by redfinfisho; 19-07-2014 at 04:41 AM. |

I've used a certate 2500, 2004 and a luvias 2004 on mine.
Redfin is right they are suited very well to either certate but I'm always after a finesse feel where possible so the certate 2004 is the best for me ! The luvias is magic with the lighter waterzombie!! ![]() Another opinion Cheers matt |

Haha. I run a 2506 luvi on mine and I think that balances best for my style. I use my smaller certates on my other lesser rated battlers

Definite differences in quality, feel and longevity between the Luvias and the Certate IMO - Certate is well worth the extra $ (if you are not taking out in a Yak and dunking it).
The Exist is status and bling when compared to a Certate IMO. You can add the extra 2 bearings to a Certate to give you 12 +1 (same as the Exist) for around $25 - 30. The pricing you have must be RRP as there are plenty of reels around at much better pricing than you have listed, locally and direct from Japan. Keep an eye on the forum, there are plenty of great condition bargains going regularly. |

The Certate 2004 with 4lb was not harnessing the full potential of the rod

You can get a luvias from japan for $260 mate.
Also not many point out that the certate 2004 and 2500 have the exact same size body and gear ratio, I'd go as far to say( at the risk of being wrong) the difference is simply the larger rotor and spool hence more drag and 15g heavier. You will snap a Beowulf before you need to use 3kg of drag in a cert 2004 let alone the 7kg in the 2500. The certate 2004 is a compact little tank of a reel, perfect for the beo mate. You will easily max out the rod with a 2004, tighten the drag, remember the rod is only rated at 2-4kg. I love a good debate
