Japanese imported rods

Hi all, I posted this on another site and have not had much of a response, so I thought I'd chuck it on here and ask the real experts...

"I want some info on some of the imported rods from asia, mainly the ones on the japanese websites. I've never seen a "Palms", "Zenaq", "Daiko" or "MegaBass" rod in the flesh and want some feedback from those who have.

So has anyone bought any of these, or similar, sticks?
If so, what's the blank quality like? Finish?

I'm always looking for more bream rods, maybe there's some goodies tucked away in Japan for me... "

A rep mate.. i'm pretty sure the next batch here will be $40 more wholesale, so about 80 retail.

Andrew,

The Megabass is really nice, I've been thining about getting one for a while..... There is a guy in Adelaide that have one I have fished with it once, its got really nice component and the workmanship is A1.

I might on my next business trip to Japan...... Did you have a look at the Evergreen? Apparently the Megabass casting rod is like the rolls royce in japan and are incredibly hard to get.

One thing I'm keen on getting is the new Shimano Shaula pack rod, I've been thinking about ordering it for a while (well I actually did ordered it a while ago and then got told that they couldn't get stock until June....so I cancelled it).

I'm happy with my Black Diamonds though......

Glenn

... funny that, being sponsored and all...

Thanks for the info, I'm keen to grab a couple but I don't feel right buying a rod without seeing it first. Unless of course it's a Miller, I trust Ian's taste.

Cheers dan, thatll push their retail price up around the $400 mark in most stores, beyond it in others likes compleat angler. Some guy had a few for $220 brand spankin new a while ago, BARGAIN!
Glenn, i would hardly call bream reapers finesse champ
Whilst they have a nice light tip, their butt end power puts them into the stump puller class

Softbream,

$220 for HLZ is a bargain, let me know when you see some more...

Bream Reaper 6'6" is a stump puller class but the 7' is very much a finesse rod.

Dan, where would you import them from?
If you get them from japan your still lookin at around $400 cuz our jap/ausd rate hasnt changed much at all.
