Smith K.O.Z Expedition S70L/2

Hello gents,

For those who own or owned the above mentioned rod, I have a question: does the cross wrapping on the blank extend ALL THE WAY to the tip on this particular model?

Thanks.

Graham,

Did you check it out?

Doctor do you know somewhere in Oz that has them relatively cheap?

Cheers

Yes I've seen them there, and I agree not the $$$ I want to spend. In saying that even OS they are still fetching good $$$. I'm actually after a 7ft BC version, similar spec from what I remember.

Sorry guys, haven't check this thread for a few days.

I can confirm the cross wrap is all the way to the tip.

Only places I would find them in Australia is Ray & Anne and Australian Angling.

Very expensive rod I have to say. I suspect that it is made by the same factory as some of the Palms rods: I have a Baymatic BMAS-70ML. The cross wrap on the Smith looks identical to that on the Baymatic (not all the way to the tip on the Baymatic though), even the rod bag looks the similar, too except the colour.

I think you are talking about the c69LH? It is a lot beefier judging from the specs.

I have the 69 spin the cross weave is all the way to the tip.Good bait rod but other than that imo average..They rate it to pe6 but really only pe3.
Mine has mnsg guides and is let down by this alone if it had k's it would be a great rod.
as i build custom rods i might just do that.
As for it looking like other rods most use the cross weave carbon to strenghten the blank . Lots of blanks used to come out of 2 factories over there but things have changed.
I would put a custom phenix up against it any day and come out with spare coin.

Sorry for hijacking the thread Doctor.
You have crossed the line, buddy. Now I demand 10% of the total sales from this garage sale as my commission.

sale

With 150 rods on the ceiling rack plus 2 piece rods in another cupboard, 3 mapping cupboards full of reels ,its too hard to pick a rod and reel to fish with.Fly gear is the only stuff there wont be much of. You could just about name anything else. I would have something to suit. 10% would be a tidy sum especially if i sell the 2 hsr 9000 milleniums alone.
